Prototyping Journal Entry
This is the first look at my game LeapBound, and 2D pixel platformer which I hope to set apart by making the direction of movement upwards rather than sideways. It may not be completely unique, but I still find it a fun premise. Another point to differentiate my game come from the upward panning camera. This is actually going to serve as your "time limit" in the game. If the player ever touches the bottom, of the camera whether by falling or just being too slow, it will result in a game over. The feedback given to me during the concept document peer reviews was more geared toward final picture things which means none of it really influenced my prototype. Suggestions were more geared toward things like story or difficulty. I chose to do greybox prototyping for this demonstration. I did create sprites but their very simple and don't have any animations. I chose to use this method of prototyping because it's been some time since I last used Gamemaker studio, so this served to help me figure out if I was capable of creating my most basic and vital mechanics.
